Accommodation and travelling services in Sri Lanka Hotel Happy Tuna (see the pictures and the location on the map) is a relatively new and cosy guesthouse in a peaceful environment. Here you can hear the birds singing instead of the traffic noise of the main road. Occasionally it is possible to see some monkeys also. There are 11 cosy double rooms with attached bathrooms and ceiling fans. In addition there is a restaurant upstairs where daily breakfast is served. A special Sri Lankan buffet every Sunday is included in the room price. Guests staying at least two weeks will also get a free fishing trip. All other services are within five minutes walk, not to forget the nearest beach, which is safe for swimming also for children.   The booking beforehand is advisable. The price per person is 140 € / week in a double room. The price includes the breakfast. For trips an air-conditioned car is available. Fishing Trips

I have arranged day-/night- and multiday fishing trips in Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka since 1983. I have hundreds of satisfied clients from all across Europe and Asia – many of them have become my friends as they return to Hikkaduwa every winter like me.  Nowadays I have six fishing boats that are all twelve meters in length. All the boats have been constructed after 2006, so they are in good condition.
 
In each boat there are sleeping places for four up to six people. They also have cooking facilities and new life vests for everybody. Garmin gps, Icom marine communication radio and compass are also included in each boat.
 
We use only quality equipments like Penn reels and rods and Rapala lures that I have purchased from Finland and USA. It is possible to get as big catch as 200 kg with these equipments. Local way of fishing though is using bottom long line and net fishing which are also available for clients if they wish to try these traditional ways of Sri Lankan fishing.
 
Sometimes there are people in the party that are not so into fishing – and for them there is a special place in the roof of captain’s cabin. Great place to catch some rays of sun.
 
The captains and the crew of Happy Tuna are all professional and experienced deep sea multiday fishermen from Hikkaduwa. I provide each boat with a captain and two crew-members, who also prepare the meals. Meal includes sandwiches and boiled, grilled or fried fish to taste. Fresh bottled water and local tea will also be served.
 
There are several kinds of trips according to how long time customers are wishing to spend in a boat and what kind of catch they are dreaming of getting.
I offer your clients trips according to following prices:
 
– One day or night fishing  trip 100 € / one person
– All the accompanying persons pay only 50 €/each, so for example four persons pay    only 250 euros altogether.
 
We also arrange whale- and dolphin watching trips. Fishermen are always happy to see dolphins, because where there are dolphins, there are also yellow fin tunas. Tunas are then easy to catch without harming the dolphins.
